It’s not all that often that I go on location for a newborn session these days as most clients prefer to come to me and make use of my studio with its wide variety of props and setups. But when I do, it’s always an exciting and unique experience – and the resulting images reflect that. Love that. This particular session brought in grandparents, the outdoors, and a bit of cozy lifestyle feel mixed in with traditional newborn posing that really made this session unique and special.

A gorgeous blonde mom-to-be and beachy backlighting… a recipe for a stunning maternity session that apparently raised someone’s eyebrows enough to report her image and get me banned from posting images on Facebook for several days. Doesn’t take one bit away from how stunning this session was.
Sweet Baby Ben… he had the most gorgeous skin and the most beautiful big sister. I had so much fun photographing him and his entire family - they were all so much fun!
The smiliest one-year-old EVER. I dare you to find a smilier one I think I got maybe 5 non-smiley shots and one of them is up there on my blog header because she was stunning in it. She’s just a happy baby, loved her!
That’s what this maternity session was all about. K & K’s connection was so easy to see and this mama to be’s connection to their soon-to-arrive baby girl was clearly there. Her confidence, happiness, and pregnancy glow were all there. And I loved capturing it.
So it seems that little girls still want little sisters, regardless of how many sisters they already have. These two were positively delighted to welcome the third baby girl to the family. Can’t say that I blame them… after all we girls… well, we are pretty awesome. While I have no biological sisters, I am lucky enough to have several cousins that I consider sisters as well as a few amazing sisters-in-law that I adore and would prefer to just to drop that pesky ”in-law” part. So I can relate. The more the merrier. And there’s room for at least one more over here… just waiting for a certain someone to pop a certain question… But back to these beautiful sisters….
I have to admit – I’ve been very lucky lately with some older newborns. This little 18 day old girl was awake for awhile but she was so content and alert that she was practically posing for me. I couldn’t get over it. She was staring right at me. Practically smiling… she was smiling with her eyes, I could tell Eventually she gave in and fell into a blissful sleep for some snuggly poses.
